GYM TEACHER
​Learning Center Hours of Operation: 2:30-5:30pm Monday-Tuesday, Thursday-Friday
COMPENSATION: PER HOUR
QUALIFICATIONS
-
Volunteer or paid teaching experience
-
Friendly and approachable demeanor
-
Teachable spirit
-
Bachelor’s degree or enrolled in Health and Physical Education or equivalent preferred
-
Current certification in First Aid and CPR preferred
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Create a safe environment for children, build rapport with children
-
Develop daily lesson plans for the gym that build on the interests of children
-
Teach good and healthy exercises to the children
-
Teach sports to the children according to their interests
-
Interact with children in a respectful and friendly manner
-
Handle discipline and guidance in a trauma responsive manner
-
Collaborate with the program manager on program development
-
Observe student behavior and performance, and report identified needs to the program manger

Adhere to established policies and procedures as outlined in the policy handbook
-
Maintain a safe environment for children at all times
-
Identify needed supplies and materials and report to the program manager while adhering to given budget
